The Dominicans

Located in the remarkable setting of an old 14th century gothic convent, the Cultural Centre for the Dominicans of Upper Alsace in Guebwiller forms a bridge between heritage and modernity. Property of the department’s council, this cultural site offers a sanctuary for musical and digital creations, offerings different forms of innovative shows, installations and artist residences.

It also has an herb garden and in the afternoon an interactive café set up in the brightly lit summer refectory.

You can visit the building with an audio-guide with music and in 7 languages (including Alsatian, Dutch and Turkish). And for children ages 7 to 11, there is a paper chase game following the track of the seraphim, the building’s ghost.
