Contact usThe Rodolphe Mines is the only French mining site where you can discover the different techniques for mining potash, which was extract until 2003. A genuine industrial temple, the Rodolphe Mines was the most significant and emblematic of Kali Sainte-Thérèse potash mines until its closed in 1976.
Accompanied by our miner guides, you can learn about the mining operations and the equipment down in the mines. Following the footsteps of the miners, you will go through the “room of the hanged” (locker room), just like thousands of miners did before, and on to the reconstructed mining work areas where the temperature approaches 50°C. The visit goes through the headframes and the extraction machines (from 1912 and 1928), as well as a complete collection of unique underground mining machines. The tour ends with a film that retraces a miner’s workday.
